Team Training on EU VAT

Along with our regular in-house software training sessions and technical updates, the main focus of our training plans at the beginning of this year is understanding how post-Brexit Trade impacts on our clients.

Brexit has had a huge impact on a lot of businesses and with the new legislation confirmed at short notice, it’s been a real challenge to understand the legislation and tailor our guidance to clients.

A large proportion of our clients have had customers or suppliers based in the EU.

We’ve had a lot of feedback from clients saying they’ve stopped trade entirely with the EU due to a combination of a lack of clear information, fears about compliance, potential for higher costs and products becoming uncompetitive.

Although we are UK accountants and therefore deal with UK Tax only, we’ve listened to our clients’ feedback and put a training plan in place.

We’ve made it our mission to understand how the new trade rules will affect UK businesses, so we are equipped to answer the questions our clients are asking. We got the team together this week for a fantastic training session led by Andrew, where we reviewed the new EU VAT rules and discussed how we can better support our clients.

This meeting had a specific focus, and we aim to continue our learning and training sessions to build a complete understanding of the changes to trade in the coming months.

We will continue to keep you updated with our research and work to support you and your business. If you need any additional support, please contact the team.
